Please note that our camp is located around 10 km from the Namibia border at Noordoewer, on the Namibian side.

What documents do I require to enter Namibia?

NOTE: VALID PASSPORTS ARE ESSENTIAL for all travelers!

  • A valid passport. It ought to have at least two blank pages and be good for six months after the leave date.
  • If you are from a country where obtaining a visa is necessary, obtain one. Please always verify with the Namibia High Commission at +27 (012) 481 9100 or visit https://visitnamibia.com.na/visainformation/ as the list of countries is subject to change at any time.

    Online applications are available at https://eservices.mhaiss.gov.na.

  • When traveling with both parents, all minors must have passports and unabridged birth certificates.
    They will also need an affidavit from the absent parent or legal guardian if they are going with just one parent or guardian. A commissioner must sign and stamp the affidavit.
  • Cross-border road tolls are paid at the border as a means of funding road upkeep.
  • Vehicle documentation and the vehicle’s country sticker
  • Certificate of yellow fever vaccination in case of travel from an affected area.

  • Please inquire about any unique health needs or rules from the border. It is the customers’ obligation to stay informed about this kind of need.

What documents are required for my vehicle to cross the border?

You won’t be allowed to cross the border if your car documentation isn’t in order. The following documents need to be on hand:

  • The driver’s valid passport and driver’s license
  • A certified copy of the vehicle registration documents; the police will verify the license data, engine, chassis, and trailer numbers.
  • Documentation from the owner or rental company proving ownership of the car
  • Should the car be rented; you’ll need to bring the contract documentation from the rental company.
  • If the car is still being financed, bring the vehicle paperwork and a letter of approval from the bank that specifies the dates of travel.
  • A letter from insurance attesting to their awareness of the border crossing.
  • A country sticker for the car.
  • Visitors from nations outside of the SACU are required to apply for a Temporary Import Permit.

Border Regulations

It is the responsibility of the client to obtain and comply with the most updated border regulations and to be in possession of the required documents, vaccinations and other medical certificates as may be required. Please be sure to contact the border to get the most updated and current regulations.

NON-SA Passports might need Namibian visa requirements:

  • South African passport holders do not need a visa when crossing the border
  • All other passport holders must check with the Namibian Tourism Board whether or not you require a visa:Tel: +27 (0) 21 422 3298.
  • Please ensure that your visa allows you to enter Namibia AND return to South Africa.
  • Visa if you are from Bulgaria, Croatia, Cyprus, Czech Republic, Estonia, Greece, Hungary, Latvia, Lithuania, Malta, Poland, Romania, China, Slovakia or Slovenia. This list can be updated at any time – please always check with the

Re-entering SA: NON-SA passports:

  • Require visa or have study-/residency permits
  • DO NOT: travel with foreign passport without a valid/in date entry stamp into South Africa!!

South Africans with Dual Citizenship

  • IE, If you have dual passports DO NOT grab your foreign passport for this tour rather use your valid SA passport.
